Ramsay Gillies (b. 1953); 'Crow'; a painted sheet iron sculpture on a stepped, ebonised wood base, initialled "RG" to underside; 34cm highNote: Ramsay Gillies was born and raised in Edinburgh and attended Edinburgh College of Art, studying Graphic Design, life drawing and sculpture. He worked as a graphic designer in Bermuda, New York, Boston and London, returning to Edinburgh in the mid 1970s where he reverted to folk-inspired sculpture.
