Raphael Soyer ( Russian/ American,1899 –1987) Signed Oil on Board Portrait

Soyer was referred to as an American scene painter . He is identified as a Social Realist because of his interest in men and women viewed in contemporary settings which included the streets, subways, salons and artists' studios of New York City . This piece depicts a mother and child on a bench. Portrait is on Board and approximately 12 inches wide x 7 3/4", Frame is 17 3/4 inches wide x 13 1/4 Tall. Item was removed from frame as it covered the signature, item could be shipped with or without the frame.
