Raquel Welch | "Crossed Swords" Costume Sketches
A group of three watercolor costume sketches for Raquel Welch's character Lady Edith in Crossed Swords (Warner Brothers, 1978), a film adaptation of Mark Twain's novel The Prince and the Pauper. Each inscribed "Raquel Welch as Lady Edith" in the upper right margin, each signed by the costume designer Ulla Britt Søderlund, two of the three dated 1976, and each framed in an acrylic frame.
The project reunited Welch with the director and producers of the film The Three Musketeers (Twentieth Century Fox, 1974), for which she won a Golden Globe Award for best performance by an actress in a motion picture – comedy or musical.
