Rare 18th-19th C. Russian Caucasian Georgian SHAMSHIR Sword, wearing a strong large fullered blade profusely gold and silver inlaid with scripts and decorations, the entire blade showing active etched patterns in imitation of damascus steel. With its solid brass hilt of the Ottoman Turkish style, chiseled with floral and animal motifs and showing partially worn gold gilt finish. In its very well built leather over wood scabbard having profusely engraved brass mounts. A very ornate and very scarce example of Caucasian weaponry. Total length (inside scabbard if present) : 37 1/2", Blade length : 31 1/2".
