Rare Aluminum Redifor Model D Free-Spool Reel

Stamped on the aluminum tail plate "Redifor, Warren, O. - Pat. May 8, 1906", this rare 2" diameter, 1 9/16" wide spool casting reel features a sliding drag switch on the head plate, brass arbor and nickel silver counter-balanced handle. The all-aluminum reel has two incised bands on the head cap rim, nickel silver screws and screw off end caps. Condition is Ex-, rare on a reel of this era and construction, typically susceptible to surface corrosion, of which this reel has only on the underside of the full-length foot.
