Rare Conroy & Bissett Hard Rubber Trout Reel
Conroy & Bissett marked reels are among the most difficult to find, produced after Frederick Malleson left the company in 1881 and before the company name changed to Thos. J. Conroy in 1883. This little 1 7/8" diameter click reel is stamped "Conroy & Bissett - NY" on the head rubber face plate, with nickel silver hardware and a bullet shaped handle grasp. Condition is only fair, due to a cracked tail plate, an angler modified foot that has both ends tapered to a narrow end, and a bit of play in the handle that causes it to "catch" the screws at times. Certainly worthy of restoration.
