Rare Egyptian Faience Jar Geometric Motif

Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom to Third Intermediate Period, 18th to 25th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 664 BCE. A rare and remarkable Egyptian faience jar presenting a flat circular base and thin walls that gently slant inward to an annular rim flanked by 2 petite handles. The exterior is skillfully adorned with a vibrant seafoam green glaze forming a triangular motif filled with a stippled design. The rim and base are each additionally embellished by a horizontal ring with equally-spaced vertical striations. Size: 3.75" in diameter x 2.875" H (9.5 cm x 7.3 cm)

Provenance: private Corpus Christi, Texas, USA estate collection, acquired 1960s to 1970s
