Rare Frank Wesson 1870 Large Frame 32 Rimfire Pocket Rifle With Stock All Matching Serials
Rare Frank Wesson Model 1870 Large Frame Pocket Rifle chambered in .32 Rimfire, manufactured circa 1870-1880. This single-shot, spur trigger, swivel-barrel breechloading rifle features a 15" octagon barrel with screw-adjustable notch rear sight and dovetailed blade front sight. The left barrel flat is marked "FRANK WESSON WORCESTER MASS / PATENTED MAY 31, 1870." Features the second-type extractor sliding in a dovetail on the right side of the barrel. The brass frame and detachable brass skeleton shoulder stock are matching serial numbered, fitted with smooth walnut grip panels. A scarce and desirable Frank Wesson pocket rifle, particularly notable with its original skeleton stock. CALIBER/GA: 32 RF. S/N: 493. FFL: Antique.
Condition
Blued finish has turned to gray patina. Brass frame shows natural patina. Grips show some small chips near the top on each side and several older dings and scratches. Bore is shiny with a few pitted spots and visible rifling. Good mechanics.
