Rare Hawkes Brazilian Cut Glass 16" Vase

This American Brilliant cut glass vase has a beautiful and graceful shape with an elongated neck. It is cut in the rare Brazilian pattern by the Hawkes Glass Co. The design has hobstars with clear buttons, two-way fans and crosshatching. The wafer foot is cut with a rayed star. This piece is shown on page 210 in the ACGA Reprint of the Grand Prize Paris Exposition 1889 Catalog for T. G. Hawkes & Company. Photo shows this piece with a wine stem for size comparison only and the wine is not included in the sale. This piece is very heavy weighing 8.5 lbs. Ca. 1900
