Rare J. Remmey Saltglaze Stoneware Cobalt Blue-Decorated One Gallon Crock, Manhattan-Wells, New York, Circa 1810. Of ovoid form, tooled neck, the handle terminals spotted in blue, stamped and heightened in cobalt blue "J. REMMEY/ MANHATTAN-WELLS/ NEW-YORK" on the front, incised and painted in cobalt blue on the reverse with a stylized floral device. H: 9.625 in., W: 8.5 in., D: 8.5 in.
