Rare Jacob Petit Paris Porcelain Petit-Dejeuner Set a la Grecque
mid-19th century, decorated with Attic-inspired figures and Greek-key borders, executed in various shades of terracotta and black, the set including a coffeepot, h. 3-1/4", w. 5-3/4", d. 4-1/2", a cup and saucer, h. 3-1/4", dia. 5-1/4", a cream jug, h. 2", w. 4-1/2", d. 3-3/4", a sugar bowl, h. 3", w. 4-1/2", d. 4", and a tray, w. 11-1/2", d. 11-1/2", the cream jug and sugar bowl signed "J.P." in underglaze blue.
Provenance: The Collection of the Late Dr. E. Ralph Lupin, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dimensions: 18 x 12 x 18 in
Condition Report: In overall very good condition with no cracks, repairs or significant losses. There is a tiny "flea-bite" to the bottom edge of the tray. On the set, the thin lines of gilding exhibit some wear. On the tray, there is some additional wear to the pigment on the figures due to rubbing from the other items.
