Rare Lobed Ge-Type Shallow Bowl
Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279)
Made in the shape of an ten-petaled mallow flower with lobed sides rising to an everted rim, the bottom of the interior very slightly convex and the recessed base correspondingly slightly concave, covered overall in a thick, opaque glaze of pale greyish-ivory color suffused with a network of black crackle ('iron wire') interspersed with golden-brown crackle ('golden threads'), the base with six which expose the dark grey ware.
