Rare Malleson Multiplying Brass Fly Reel
Marked "Patented By Fred'k Malleson - Sept. 4, 83" on the rear cover that protects the complex gearing, this 2 7/8" diameter (measured pillar to pillar), 1 1/16" wide spool reel is equipped with a front mounted arrow clicker, that twitches with each turn of the counter balanced, bullet shaped grasp handle. Marked Malleson reels are a rare commodity, with this once nickel-plated brass example no exception, in VG overall condition, having few spots of the original nickel plating remaining, two replaced screws and gearing that is a bit stiff.
