This trilobite is one of only a few complete specimens of its kind known. For many years, Russian excavators focused on the rich paleontological bounty housed in the Middle Ordovician quarries which ring St. Petersburg. When they began exploring the nearby Upper Ordovician exposures during the second decade of the 21st century, they recovered incredibly rare trilobites such as the present specimen. Perhaps no more than a handful of complete specimens are known, making this one of the most rare trilobite specimens in the world. Measuring 2 ¼ x 1 3/4in; Matrix measuring 4 x 4in
