Rare Rolex Stainless Steel Reference 8171 "Padellone" Triple Calendar Wristwatch, c. 1950, champagne and white two-tone dial with blue outer calendar track, applied gilt faceted baton markers, subsidiary apertures for day of the week and month, moon's phase with constant seconds reading "Officially Certified Chronometer," signed crown, interior case marked "8171," case back retains the engraved Rolex coronet and case number 820725, 18-jewel automatic caliber 10 1/2 movement no. 10310/G4978, dia. 38 mm.

Provenance: According to the consignor, this watch has been in the family for two generations.

Note: With low production numbers for the reference 8171 in any metal (they were made in gold, rose gold, and stainless steel), very few stainless steel examples are known to remain.
