Gabriele Mucchi (Italian, 1899-2002) was a painter, architect, furniture designer, and illustrator who worked primarily in Milan. This book reproduces the line drawings he made in 1943 as illustrations for the famous 19th-century Italian novel, I Promessi Sposi by Alessandro Manzoni.

Condition Report: Wear, scuffs, light staining, and toning to glassine, corners and head and tail of spine rubbed resulting in small losses to glassine, front cover slightly warped; pages mildly toned with occasional light scuff or mark, otherwise pages clean and crisp. An overall very good copy of this scarce book.
