Rare Un-issued WW2 American OSS Special Forces Guerrilla Warfare Machete / Parang

Rare Un-issued WW2 American OSS Special Forces Guerrilla Warfare Machete / Parang, produced by the firm Curver Manufacturing Company, these weapons were produced for the OSS (Office of Strategic Services), the American equivalent of the British Special Operations Executive (SOE), for issue to Philippines troops being trained in the USA and who were to be parachuted or delivered by submarine to the islands held by the Japanese. The grip is of a black plastic with cross hatch grip to the centre, remains of the original paper label around the grip. The knife is housed in its original hard brown leather scabbard. The swollen blade still has the original oil paper covering attached. It is believed that Curver made the grips and the scabbards and the blades were made by Collins, but all were un-marked so if captured they would not be identified as American. The blade measures 15 ¾ inches, overall 23 ½ inches.
