Passover Haggadah. "Masada" Group – Tribe A, Passover 1961.

A complete, expanded secular kibbutz/movement Haggadah, written, illustrated, and stencil-duplicated by hand locally for members of the "Masada" Group.

The texts in the Haggadah combine traditional motifs of the spring festival with modern content, movement songs, and distinctive illustrations in the spirit of the period.

The front cover bears the title "Haggadah shel Pesach" in characteristic stylized handwriting, with the group's name and year at the foot: "Masada – Tribe A, 1961." Contents and illustrations:

The Haggadah is accompanied throughout by simple yet expressive line illustrations depicting biblical, agricultural, and national motifs. Among the pages: a "Maggid" page with an illustration of an Egyptian overseer oppressing the Children of Israel as they lift stones; a "Third Cup" page dedicated to immigration, sovereignty, and the memory of the fallen ("We shall remember our brethren who fell…"), decorated with an illustration of a watchtower, a wall, and barbed wire; as well as festive song pages ("Halayla Haze, " "Ha Lachma Anya").

The entire text is written in square script styled in the "graphic lettering" characteristic of pioneering Eretz-Israeli graphic art.

A complete copy in its original state. Contains 12 leaves in total (the front title page and 11 content leaves with illustrations and songs, including the back cover; 22 printed content pages in all).

The Haggadah leaves are bound together in their original binding by a red fabric ribbon threaded through two holes in the right margin, preserved intact.

In generally good condition: the paper has a natural brownish-yellow tone, with light age stains (foxing) typical of paper from that period, without deep tears or damage to the text and illustrations.
