Rare and Unusual Black Fan

Late 19th century tortoiseshell fan. The pink and blue hued mother of pearl monture is demi-sultane in style, heightened with silver and gold foil with long sticks supporting the black lace, the black gauze painted with a veiled courtesan dancing between two pillars, 55 x 28 cms, circa 1880. Please note: these fans will have small issues consistent with age, please request a condition report prior to bidding. - Condition Report There is a vertical split in the gauze along side the guard stick. Evidence of restoration to the left guard stick.
