Probably modelled by J.J. Kaendler and P. Reinicke, the woman seated on a chair holding a bowl of fruit, wearing a tunic decorated with flower sprigs, a purple-striped sash and purple skirt with yellow shoes, the child wearing a spotted shirt and yellow breeches, the base applied with leaves and flowers, 10.5cm high, impressed 32
Based on an engraving from the series Scenes de la vie Chinoise by Gabriel Huquier after Francois Boucher of ca. 1738-45. Another example of this group was sold at Bonhams London, 25 May 2011, lot 196.
