Rare, one of a kind special ordered hybrid Marfa Shank Navajo Silversmith sterling silver mounted and engraved R.F. Ford, San Angelo, Texas marked #455 Spurs. Per R.F. Ford Spur Maker by Liz Ford, Charles Dean ordered pair #455 "with no decorations". It appears Charlie Dean ordered this pair with the intention of taking them to renowned Navajo Silversmith, Randy Shorty for Navajo style sterling mountings. They are marked on a sterling plate inside the left spur outside swing button "Randy Shorty Sterling". Charlie Dean" Double V brand on the outside sterling mounted buttons. Fitted with their original basket straps with what appears to be "Randy Shorty" crafted buckle sets and Charlie Dean's Double V brand mounted in what appears to be gold. These Spurs are all original, showing light period use. Charlie Dean ranched under the Double V brand out of Fort Sumner and Roswell, New Mexico beginning in the 1970s.
