A rare pair of Empire period silver candlesticks of round form, the base with laurel band, a two-faced bust of Bacchus supporting the vase-type socket. Hallmarks for the city of Rome, maker's mark un-decipherable but very probably for Roman silversmith Angelo Giannotti, circa 1820. 2nd title silver: 889/1000 silver purity. Weighted.
Approximate measurements: 11 1/2"H x 4 3/4" in diameter at the base or 29cm H x 12cm in diameter at the base.
Condition Report: Overall good age-appropriate condition, with age related surface scratches and minor dents, consistent with use and age. Weighted.
