⁂ The second print was used as an illustration to Thomas Hennell's Poems published by OUP in 1936. Hennell replaced his missing friend Ravilious as a war artist in Iceland in 1942 but later disappeared himself during unrest in Jakarta in 1945. The woodblock came to light during a clear-out of the old Oxford College of Technology, Art and Commerce which had been given some equipment by the Oxford University Press.
