Raymond THIBESART (1874-1968)
Raymond Thibésart, son of a wealthy family, was born in Bar-sur-Aube on May 2, 1874. Shortly afterwards, his parents moved to Enghien, on the outskirts of Paris. There the Thibésarts met a Venezuelan family who had just arrived in France, the Boggios. Thibésart was very gifted for drawing and admired Emile Boggio, 17 years his senior, who gave him his first lessons when he was eleven years old. Master Emile Boggio, a very talented Venezuelan impressionist painter, became Raymond Thibésart's first teacher.
From 1897; member, then gold medalist of the Association of French Artists, regularly exhibits at the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Indépendants.
