Folded fan, with a lithographed paper panel depicting a chivalric theme. On the sides, horsemen in armor, holding lances, swords, or trumpets. In the center, a sovereign begins reading a letter to his entourage.
The reverse is decorated with stylized foliage and cartouches featuring views of boats, landscapes, and rural scenes in the 18th-century style.
The horn mount is re-drilled, engraved, and gilded, decorated with cornucopias.
