Rare real estate map of the town located in the northeast corner of Miami-Dade County, Florida, between the Intracoastal Waterway and Atlantic Ocean. Golden Beach is known as a very upscale community, and many of its houses are worth over a million dollars, quite impressive for those not living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Several celebrities, including multi-billionaire Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, maintain homes there. In 1981, all but one of the roads into the town from A1A were closed as a means of preventing "criminals, curious tourists from nearby hotels, joggers and Haitian refugees" from entering Golden Beach (thank you Wikipedia). The present example has two clipped classified ads for Golden Beach real estate (one dated 1958), affixed in ocean portion, with glue stains. There are also three ink notations regarding home ownership and purchases, one identifying a double-lot as being owned by Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt. No copies are listed in OCLC.
