Note: Rebecca Stevenson is a British sculptor. Stevenson’s works draw a range of historical artistic influences, including 17th-century still lifes depicting bountiful supplies of perfectly ripe and luscious fruits, alongside the ornate mouldings which define the Baroque style. The present work encourages the viewer to consider the constant conflict between permanence and decay, and the disconnect between the materiality of an object and the essence of life.
