Red agate ‘Characters’ pendant, Liao dynasty
A disc-shaped pendant, crafted from reddish-brown agate, with a gold-plated setting along the outer edge and around the central hole. It has a circular, lenticular shape and is decorated on both sides with incised, gold-plated characters (tiejin) depicting Taoist motifs. Liao Dynasty (916–1125) or later.
