The largest Brahminy kite also called from red-backed eagle - closed ringed and documents Very rare, only very hard to get Absolute great preparation in museum quality freshly prepared In adult birds of the nominotypical taxon, head, neck, chest and upper belly are white with a more or less clearly pronounced fine dark longitudinal streaks. Back, upper elytra, the upper side of the arm swings, the top side of the inner hand swings and the basal half of the outer hand swings, the small and middle lower elytra, the lower abdomen and the leg feathering are dark rust-red. The distal half of the outer hand swings is black on both the top and bottom. The tail is also predominantly rust-red on the top, but shows a pale rust-coloured end band. Underside, the tail and the wings as well as the large lower elytra are pale rust-coloured and thus form a clear contrast to the dark rust-coloured parts. The iris is dark brown, rarely dark reddish brown. The wax skin is variably pale yellow, whitish or pale blue, the beak is usually pale yellow to greenish yellow with bluish base. The legs and toes are cream-coloured, pale yellow or greenish yellow; the claws are black. The bird is in the best plumage condition
