Beautiful reliquary with twisting decoration. It contains the Ex Ossibus relics of the following Saints: 1 - St. Maximin the Martyr A legend from the 11th century makes St. Maximin (fr. Maximin) one of the seventy-two disciples of Jesus who, having landed in 45 at the mouth of the Rhone, together with Martha, Mary Magdalene and Lazarus, then travelled throughout Provence preaching and spreading Christianity. He was later made the first bishop of Aix by the people. 2 - St. Pius Martyr (Pope from 140 to 155) . He was born in Aquileia, sources tell us that he was the brother of Erma, one of the apostolic fathers, author of the work "Il Pastore". During the 15 years of his pontificate, Pope Pius I had to deal with the heresy of the Gnostic Marcione, who opposed the God of the Old Testament to Christ. He set up the norms for the conversion of the Jews, and established the calculation of the date of Easter. He died in 155. 3 - St. Rufino martyr First bishop of Assisi and martyr, St. Rufino is the main patron of the Umbrian diocese, the Cathedral was dedicated to him since the first half of the 11th century. A "passio" from the 19th century tells that Rufino, bishop of the city of Amasia in Pontus, after converting the proconsul, arrived with his son Cesidio in the Marsi region of Abruzzo. In this area he consecrated a church and then went on to preach the Gospel in Assisi. Here he was discovered by the proconsul Aspasio who, after having subjected him to various tortures, sentenced him to death because he was a Christian. Rufino died thrown into the waters of a river with a boulder tied around his neck. 4 - St. Vincent Martyr One of the most rooted saints in the religious memory of Spain, Saint Vincent of Zaragoza, reminds us that "qualifications" are not needed to become teachers and guides in the Christian community, the desire to bear witness to the Gospel without mediation is enough. He was a deacon who lived between the 3rd and 4th century and worked alongside Bishop Valerio. 5 - St. Viventius Martyr According to an oral tradition, St. Viventius was the distinguished and beloved bishop of Blera from 457 to 484. There is indeed a very strong oral tradition about this saint, rich in poetic and suggestive details, but unfortunately no document of historical value that can help us reconstruct the phases of his earthly life. The Collegiate Church of Blera is dedicated to Maria Assunta and St. Viventius. The crypt, with cross vaults embellished with stuccoes and capitals, houses the tomb of the saint. The item will be carefully packed and shipped. Sold ‘as is’.
