Reliquary - Neoclassical - Wood - Late 18th century

Possibly Italian school from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. Reliquary figure of Saint Lawrence in carved, embossed and polychrome wood. He is represented dressed as a deacon and with the grill at his feet, an instrument where he was martyred. The smoke, carved out of wood, envelops the lower front and back. It does not carry power, in fact, the smoke refers to it. The figure rests on a wooden base in black with golden decorations where the relic is housed in the front part. You can see the closed compartment, the base is open. Figure in good general condition, with a strong patina of having been subjected to candle smoke, small faults in polychrome.
