Royal almanac for the year 1767, interesting for knowledge of the administration under Louis XV.

Luxury copy established in a beautiful full red morocco binding, pretty lace framing on the covers, ribbed spine decorated with fleur-de-lys partitions, scrolls on the edges, all gilded edges. Gold/red dominated paper on the endpapers and contreplats.

Heraldic bookplate by Guillaume Alexandre Galard de Béarn. Duke's crown, 2 griffins looking, all on a cloud - H: Quarterly at 1 and 4: argent with three crows proper beaked and membered gules (GALARD) ; 2 and 3: gold with two cows gules one on top of the other, horned, collared and clarinated gules (BÉARN) .

The Royal Almanac is a directory of the French administration, founded in 1683 by the bookseller Laurent d'Houry, published under this title from 1700 to 1792, then under different titles (Imperial Directory, etc.) from 1793 to 1919.
It presented each year, in the official order of precedence, the list of members of the royal family of France, princes of blood, and the main bodies of the kingdom: great officers of the Crown, members of the high clergy, abbots of the great abbeys (with the income of each abbey) , marshals of France, colonels and general officers, ambassadors and consuls of France, presidents of the main jurisdictions, state councilors, bankers, etc.

Condition: Beautiful copy, solid binding, leather a little shaded on the spine and at the edges of the covers, accident with small tear in the head cap without gaps. Corners in very good condition. Interior in good condition, paper a little yellowed, some pitting. Title with several cut fragments. The calendar is interleaved.
