Renaissance Marble head of Silenus- 13×9.5×0 cm
A beautiful marble carving depicting Silenus, an old satyr and companion and tutor to the wine god Dionysus. His face is bearded and smiling. He wears a headdress with a small gaping grotesque mask in the middle, which is a highly unusual, typical Renaissance feature.
