Renault - 5 Turbo 2 - 1984

The history of the 5 Turbo began in the 1980s, when the final model was put on sale, after the creation of a racing prototype. The French company created a real racing monster for rallies, which over the years allowed them to gain an incredible reputation among fans of racing cars. This small marvel was able to develop 160 hp that, thanks to its low weight and the 1,400cc 4-cylinder Turbo engine, delivered outstanding performance. In 1982 a new version was introduced, the Turbo 2, where the use of aluminium was abandoned in order to contain costs. Mechanics were slightly modified for reliability. Despite these changes, performance remained virtually unchanged. This Renault 5 Turbo 2 recently participated in the latest edition of the 2019 ‘Vernasca Silver Flag’ (one of the most important classic car events in the world) . The car was recently restored by the previous owner, who decided to give it a new livery, typical of races of the time. Mechanics were also entirely overhauled, while some more sporty details were installed, such as: seats, belts, ‘Gotti’ rims and exhaust tail pipe. Ideal car for events, sports regularity races and collectors. The car was regularly registered in Germany, then it was imported to Italy. Bodywork in very good condition. Interior in good condition.
