René Boivin Coral and diamond sautoir, circa 1970

The detachable pendant featuring a carved coral dolphin with brilliant-cut diamond eyes, the suspension ring and bail enhanced with triangular and brilliant-cut diamonds and diamonds of yellow tint, on a fancy link chain, length approximately 850mm, signed René Boivin Paris, maker's mark for Charles Profilet, French assay marks for gold, case stamped René Boivin.

Accompanied by GGTL report no. 24-B-6902, dated 7 March 2024, stating that the coral species was found to be pleurocorallium elatius.

Accompanied by a Françoise Cailles letter of authenticity, dated 7 March 2006, stating that the jewel was created by René Boivin circa 1970.

Pendant signed René Boivin. Maker's mark for Charles Profilet, 51 rue Etienne Marcel, Paris. French assay marks and stamped 750 for 18 carat gold. Coral reddish orange of strong saturation, finely carved, mottling to the reverse, with typical surface structure, minor chips. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 1.80 - 2.20 carats, on average J-K colour, VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Diamonds of yellow tint estimated to weigh approximately 0.50 - 0.70 carat, VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Scratches to the metal consistent with age and wear. In good condition. Pendant measuring approximately 100 x 30mm. Total gross weight approximately 127 grams. Accompanied by a case stamped René Boivin Joailliers Paris.
