René Lalique (1860-1945), a pair of 'Cluny' patinated bronze and polished glass Handles Unsigned, designed 1925 Each handle having a moulded light-smoky-glass classical mask held in a bronze mount, the stylised ribbed hair terminating with five serpents heads 19.5 cm high (2) Note: The handles were made to be part of the 'Cluny' vase designed in 1925 by René Lalique (Marcilhac no. 961). The masks would have sat on the sides of the globular vase and the serpents open mouths would have grasped the rim of the everted rim.
