the plaque reads: "Life Is Measured By Deeds Not Years / Twenty Five Years Ago Irving T. Bush Began The Bush Terminal / His Vision, Courage And Patient Effort Have Transformed A Waste Of Land Into An Efficient Instrument For The Industrial Service Of His Country / This Tablet Is Erected By His Business Associates To Record Their Admiration And Friendship / 1902 / 1927"

Rene Paul Chambellan created pieces for the garden and fountains at Rockefeller Center. One of his most important works there was "Atlas". This work was a successful collaboration between him and Lee Lawrie.

Irving Ter Bush was an American businessman. He was the founder of the Bush Terminal Company and was responsible for the construction of the Bush Terminal transportation, warehousing, and manufacturing facility in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York. He commissioned Manhattan's landmark Bush Tower skyscraper on 42nd Street near New York City's Times Square and funded the construction of Bush House in London.
