Renzo Frau - Poltrona Frau - Armchair - Fumoir

Historic piece from the Poltrona Frau collection, Fumoir model armchair, Renzo Frau was inspired by the eighteenth-century tub armchair with low backrest, particularly suited to the upright position in which you sit around a table or in a waiting room. The Fumoir armchair and sofa are characterised by the absence of a cushion on the seat and by the decisive volumetric reshaping that make it, today as it was then, extremely sleek and versatile in use. Fumoir is equipped with brass front wheels and is characterised by diamond pattern stitching on the back and buttons covered in leather. A row of leather covered tacks finishes the back and sides of the armchair. The supporting structure is in seasoned beechwood. The suspension of the seat is obtained with biconical steel springs fastened by hand and placed on jute belts. The padding is made of rubber-coated horse hair.
