Resin replica sperm whale tooth with scrimshaw style decoration. Cast in off-white resin featuring artificial aging, staining, and surface pitting to simulate antique whale ivory. The decorative scene is incised and inked in black, depicting a nineteenth-century maritime view of Brant Point in Nantucket, Massachusetts. The illustration includes two three-masted sailing vessels, a lighthouse, a keeper cottage, and figures in a small boat. The base is hollowed with jagged, uneven edges designed to mimic a natural break from a whale jaw. The verso is smooth and undecorated, following the natural curve of the cast form.
