Revolutionary War Soldier Commemorative

Amazing piece of history. Framed to a size of approximately 23-1/4 inches by 14-3/4 inches, you will find an American Flag illustration done by Allen Saalburg that was originally featured as the cover of the July 1942 House & Garden magazine. Beneath the illustration is a memorial note written about Jared Allen, a veteran of the Revolutionary War. The memorial note makes mention of Mr. Allen passing away on the morning July 23, 1846, and having achieved the age of 87 years and one day. The memorial note also makes mention of Mr. Olcott having been in various battles including Monmouth, Princeton, and Trenton among others. Our research did find a record of Jared Olcott having served in the Revolutionary War. This item has NOT been examined outside of the frame.
