Revolutionary War/War of 1812 Canteen

Late 18th/Early 19th century American canteen. Canteen measures 7.25 inches in diameter and 3 inches thick with a raised bung stave. It is held together by forged metal hoops. Side of canteen presents old ink label " Used in the Revolutionary War and The War of 1812". Canteen surface exhibits oxidation and some abrasions and what appears to be remnants of lightly inscribed letters.
