Rhodochrosite & Manganite N'Chwaning Mines, Kuruman, Kalahari Mn Field, Northern Cape, South Africa "A cluster of intergrown barrel shaped crystals to about 8mm on crystallized manganite? Got this specimen from Clive Queit in a shipment." - Rock H. Currier The N'Chwaning Rhodo find, some years back, were comprised of some very distinctively different crystal habits. Some were toothlike. Some were toothlike but with flat tips. Some, such as this one, featured 'barrel-like' complex crystals with lightly colored centers becoming progressively darker towards the terminations. Each 'find' was remarkably distinct in appearance from other finds in the same general area. As Clive would say: "This is a BEE-YOU-TEA-FULL specimen." He was ... and is ... right. There is a custom acrylic base. Overall Measurements: 2.4 x 2.4 x 1.4 inches (6.0 x 6.0 x 3.5 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from Clive Queit [RHC #3397, acquired 1977] [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
