Rhodonite Conselheiro Pena, Minas Gerais, Brazil 5.9 x 5.3 x 4.3 cm (2.32 x 2.09 x 1.69 in) The sheer size of this single Rhodonite crystal is exceptional for the species, at basically 5 centimeters square and a hefty 360 grams. Typically a specimen that is large sacrifices color and quality, but not so for this specimen: the color is an intense quinacridone red, as good as it gets for Rhodonite, and it is quite translucent as well: when backlit the light shines through easily and glows a neon red.
