Biography: Ricardo Chacon has art in his veins. He trained with his father, the artist Felix Vidal Chacon. From his early days, we remember those chairs, tables, benches, and hobbyhorses in pyramidal compositions. Now, those same elements merge, serving as a stable foundation, from which characters emerge who position themselves at royal gatherings. The characters are cut out with technical precision. Their stylized forms in space are superimposed on a background that highlights them due to the color contrast and their own composition. In the scene, the characters listen to the complex discourse of royalty in order to synthesize it and "bring the voice of royalty to the people" "or the voice of the people to royalty." From the beginning of his career, Ricardo has explored diverse formal, compositional, and expressive possibilities, ranging from critical realism to astonishing hyperrealism; from a hallucinated dream to a constructive, exciting, and ingenious game.
