Catalogue Note:
Established in 2001, Richard Mille entered the world of horology with a very different philosophy than traditional companies. Taking inspiration from the world of F1 motor racing he created watches that were not only mechanically interesting but, most importantly, could be worn in a multitude of sports environments.

Richard Mille released the RM011 in 2007 in collaboration with the prestigious Brazilian Formula 1 driver, Felipe Massa. Inspired by his wild and daring style in racing, the RM011 also exhibits an extraordinary design with its racing elements, dedicated towards performance on the racing tracks. A long-time test driver for Richard Mille watches, it was he who enabled the brand to initiate and accomplish astonishing feats in watchmaking development. The RM11 Felipe Massa is fitted with an ergonomic tonneau shaped titanium and pink gold case. The dial features white Arabic numerals and tachymetric scale, skeletonized hands with luminescent material and red and yellow hands on the chronograph and the running seconds indicator at 3 o’clock. Housing the automatic caliber RMAC1, the movement promotes a flyback chronograph as well as an annual calendar, semi-skeletonized for its architecture to be admired through the dial. The epitome of perfection, every part of a Richard Mille watch is custom designed and built to fit only that particular model. The most rigorous engineering standards are used to construct each Richard Mille watch, similar to that of Formula 1 racing cars. The RM011 case was designed to be a new larger version of the RM004 and RM008 and is the result of one year of research and development.
