The origin of this piece is to compare the visions of two great animal sculptors: François Pompon (1855-1933) and Richard Orlinski. Nearly a century after the success of Pompon's "L'Ours Blanc" at the Salon d'Automne (Paris, 1922) , Orlinski offers a contemporary reinterpretation, in the tradition of his famous "Kong", while retaining - and by perpetuating - the form and the idea.
