Richard Roundtree Mixed Lot of Personally Owned Black Americana Shelf Decor Pieces - This lot encompasses a collection of Black Americana shelf decor pieces that were personally owned by the late actor Richard Roundtree. The lot includes a pair of porcelain salt and pepper shakers (measurements: 4.5 x 2 inches), clay art pottery bust in acrylic case (measurements: bust-3.25 x 2.75 inches, case-6.75 x 4.25 x 4 inch case), and Bill Pickett The Bull-Dogger limited edition wood sculpture #267/300 (measurements: 8.5 x 4 inches). These pieces decorated shelves in Roundtree's Los Angeles home, and come directly from the Roundtree Trust. Richard Roundtree was best known for his portrayal of private detective John Shaft in the 1971 film Shaft and four of its sequels. Considered as "the first Black action hero", Roundtree was credited with having an impact on the rise of African American leading actors in Hollywood projects, thanks to his successful performances in the genre. Over his five decades as an actor, he has appeared in some 160 film and television projects, sharing the screen with actors including Clint Eastwood, Peter O'Toole, Laurence Olivier, Samuel L. Jackson, and Brad Pitt, and received numerous awards, such as an MTV Lifetime Achievement Award, a Peabody Award, and a Black Theater Alliance Lifetime Achievement Award.
