Richard Schloss Californian (b. 1953) Pine Grove oil on canvas 1988, signed, and dated lower right, also signed, titled, and dated verso 32 x 43 in. (81.3 x 109.2 cm.), Frame: 40 1/2 x 52 in. (102.9 x 132.1 cm.) Artist Biography: In 1992, he was chosen to paint the diorama backgrounds for the Cartwright Interactions Hall of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. He has done numerous commissions for public spaces, including Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, Santa Barbara Historical Museum, and The Palo Alto Medical Foundation. In 2015, he was offered a large, one-man show at the Ventura Museum of Art. His work is included in five museums in the Central California area: the Santa Barbara Historical Museum, Ridley-Tree - Westmont Museum, Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, Ventura Museum of Art, and The Hammer Museum Los Angeles, CA.
