brass case with ribbed hinged handle and fluted Corinthian columns to the corners of the case, inset with bevelled glass panels, enamel dial with Roman numerals, eight day movement with lever escapement, signed backplate and striking on a coiled gong, 14cm high, not including the handle, with its fitted leather, velvet lined travelling case with canvas carrying strap and brass winding key, the case with gilt stamped owner's initials; E.H.M. 1909
