Sand dunes, Hunstanton, Norfolksigned with a monogram 'RBF '74' (lower left) and inscribed with title to the reverseoil on panel12 x 20.5cmFootnote: Robert Farren (1832-1912) was born on Willow Walk along Christ's Pieces in Cambridge and lived in the city most of his life, except for a few years in Scarborough. He was well-known for his picturesque views of Cambridge and engravings of the local scenery. He worked as a heraldic artist and in the Geological Museum mounting specimens and labelling cases. Farren married Miss Mason from Cambridge and had 14 children, two of his daughters were also painters. Condition report: 27 x 36cm (framed)
